Had Microsoft look at this and they say I have a hardware issue. All that is plugged into this computer is a scanner and a printer. The printer is old. Any suggestions on what might be happening? I will have sighted assistance with this computer after Easter. Want to update windows to 10.
Some devices don't get updated drivers.
So, while that is technically softwear, it is the hardwear that isn't working.
Try getting updated drivers for all your items that are connected.
You can find these at the websites that made them.
Maybe it is just time to replace them too.

Additionally, my printer needs to be replaced and now I wonder about the scanner that I use to read mail in open book. I have the latest open book but not sure about how old this scanner is. I am surprised though the error comes and goes.
